The converted savegames can be loaded in TTD (with or without patch) for DOS, Windows and OpenTTD. All types (single- & multiplayer savegames as well as scenarios) are supported. The graphic set used in TTO (normal or mars scenery from TTO World Editor) doesn't matter. If you pass it on to any third party, I would be pleased if you mentioned its origin: http://www.tt-ms.de/svxconverter USAGE INSTRUCTION -------------------------------------------------------- The usage of this tool should be self-explanatory. Simply run SVXConverter.exe, choose the TTO savegame and the output filename and click 'Convert'. Then either convert another savegame or close the program by click- ing 'Quit'. The conversion takes only a split second, depending on the computing power of your PC. The generated TTD save- game will be written to the same directory as where the TTO savegame is located. NOTES -------------------------------------------------------- The color of town buildings isn't stored in the save- games, but is determined by the tile position where the building is located. Since the color assignment works different in TTO and TTD, the color of some town buil- dings will have changed after the conversion. Iron ore mines don't look the same in TTO and the tempe- rate climate in TTD. The graphics are therefore taken from the tropical climate such that they still look like in TTO. However, this results in the color of iron ore mines on the minimap being grey instead of brown. The color palette in TTO differs from the one in TTD. The colors of factories and companies are being adjusted in the best possible way during the conversion, but there will still be some inevitable differences. In TTO the town zones (pavements, avenues etc.) get lar- ger than in TTD. Even though converted correctly, they will shrink immediately in TTD. The monorail bridge type from TTO doesn't exist in TTD. Thus, all monorail bridges will be turned into tubular steel bridges. There are no fences along monorail tracks in TTO. Hence, at the resumption of game in TTD, they will be genera- ted automatically. Since some vehicles from TTO don't exist in TTD, they are converted to the most similar ones that exist in TTD. Since the manager's skin color can be black in TTD but doesn't use any additional storage space, some tie/hair combinations that were possible in TTO can't occur in TTD anymore. Therefore, in order to prevent the skin from turning into black, the tie color is being changed by the conversion procedure in some cases.
