Die ME26, die die Nord-Ostsee-Bahn als DE2700 fährt, war ursprünglich für den Skandinavienverkehr konzipiert, jedoch wurden die o.g. Komfortkomponenten rückgebaut.

In den USA ist die Mehrheit der Loks mit Toiletten ausgerüstet.

Ihr bekannt mittelalterliches Verhalten erspart der DB andererseits überflüssige Extrakosten und Mühen:
